MORE DETAILS ON OUR SERVICES
General system cleanup, spyware removal, and "garbage collection": Over time and/or after heavy usage, computers will accumulate a variety of small issues that will work together to reduce computer performance and increase the occurrence of problems. Among the many factors involved are spyware and virus infections, piles upon piles of temporary files, unchecked Internet browsing caches, programs that take it upon themselves to include themselves in the startup process, programs that are no longer used but haven't been removed , and fragmentation from installing and removing programs. While these factors alone may be relatively minor and even go unnoticed, they can contribute to each other in taking your computer's health rapidly downhill. Tritech Computer Solutions specializes in handling these types of situations, and we have seen a near-100% success rate in removing these problems as a whole. Typically, the only time we have problems with slowness remaining after "cleaning out the closet" is due to a user's preference to install or retain elements that cause slowness, such as a brand new version of Norton Internet Security on an older, memory-limited computer.
Software problem troubleshooting: If you get an annoying error when your desktop appears, your office programs just crash when you double-click them, your computer is being passed by turtles on the information super-highway, hitting "My Computer" in Microsoft Word results in a two-minute waiting game, or your computer gets into a big argument with your printer, you've hit one of the many software glitches that we repair. Anything from a sudden "stickiness" to the motion of the mouse to unexpected video game "lagging," or even showers of windows with big red circles and "X" symbols...whatever problem you have that's driving you up the wall, we will take care of it.
Hardware problem diagnosis, repair, and upgrades: From time to time, you'll experience a problem that's not caused by software. Perhaps your computer won't power on or was "hit by lightning." Maybe the screen won't show anything despite the fact that you've checked the video cable ten times already. Maybe your DVD drive isn't recognizing the discs you put in it, or your USB flash drive (aka thumb drive, jump drive, memory stick) doesn't appear in My Computer when you plug it in. Perhaps your computer can't handle a big program you need like a CAD facility or financial management software, and it's time to upgrade. We will provide you with diagnosis and advice for any kind of hardware problem, present you with options and their pros and cons, and take the course of action you decide upon.
Laptop computer repairs: Did you drop your laptop? Something hit the screen and now it's cracked? Won't boot anymore? Have you managed to crack your hinges and now the lid doesn't open and close properly? How about overheating or shutting off without warning? We are experienced in the diagnosis, disassembly, and part replacement procedures necessary to handle laptop repairs and upgrades. Laptops are unique in their compact design and tight integration of parts, and the skills required for laptop work are vastly different and more difficult than that of a desktop computer. Tritech can handle any laptop problem you throw at us, as well as advise of alternatives to repair if the repair costs may become too excessive.
Computer recycling and buy-back services for homes and businesses: We do not participate in the retail sale of computer equipment, but we do recycle computer equipment that still has usability value, as well as perform hard drive secure erasures to ensure your data's privacy and your security. If you have a computer with a Pentium processor or better, we will clean the hard drive's contents with a secure erase to effectively destroy your old private data, reinstall the operating system from scratch, and re-sell the system to those who cannot afford a newer system. We may even be able to offer you a small sum of money for the computer equipment, depending on the age, functionality, and features. We especially want old laptops, regardless of whether they are broken or not. If you take it to the local dump or put it on the street corner, someone can easily get their hands on it and access your old data. We won't let that happen. You'll be recycling, protecting yourself, and helping out those who are less fortunate.
Computer and network security checking and enhancement: If you're worried about the security of your network, we can take a look at it and find out how vulnerable to attacks you actually are. Despite the hype in the media and from some of our competitors, you may NOT be as insecure as you think, and some of those firewall programs and fancy devices may be more of a headache than an asset. We can give you a realistic, no-holds-barred analysis of what's open and what's not, without trying to scare you into paying for a security hardening session.
Data recovery, restoration, and backup solution consultation: Your data is the only thing on your computer that is important in the long term, and all it takes is one hard drive failure to literally lose everything you have, in the blink of an eye. If your operating system is broken or your hard drive is on the way out, we'll make every reasonable effort to retrieve your data and restore it to a more reliable medium such as a CD, DVD, ZIP disk, or a USB thumb drive or hard drive. If you're concerned about your data (and you should be!) we can analyze how much volume of data you use now and plan to use in the future, and make suggestions about the best backup solution for your specific situation. Some people will only need an occasional CD burning session once a week, yet others may benefit from having a full-blown central storage and backup server with disk mirrors and nightly data snapshots. See below for more information on our low-cost central server solutions.
Network installation and maintenance for homes and small businesses: From wireless for your laptop to fishing wires into the walls in a small commercial structure, we can set up a network that meets your needs and doesn't pound your wallet. Tritech Computer Solutions can evaluate, recommend, and install the network your home, home office, or small business needs. We focus on the specific needs of these types of clients, and we offer customized network solutions for each individual request. We also handle wireless network security checks and configuration to ensure your safety against the casual hacker with a laptop.
Central storage servers: A very popular service with home office and small business clients is our storage server construction and installation. Networks with more than three computers may find sharing files between each other to be irritating, and most businesses are in desperate need of an affordable backup solution as well. Our central storage servers powered by the Linux operating system can easily "knock out two birds with one stone," providing an automated backup solution through the use of RAID technology and central storage for your network to enable better sharing and collaboration between employees and managers. Imagine how productive you can be without having to E-mail files to yourself or navigate through the "network places" and hope you put the file on the right machine! If a hard drive fails in the server, it will detect the failure and the other hard drives will pick up the slack, with no loss of your important data. Best of all, we can optionally set up a "back door" to the server for Tritech to periodically check on its operation and verify that scripts and server programs are working as expected.
HOW CAN WE OFFER SUCH LOW PRICES?
Our prices are low because we maintain a realistically minimal overhead. Most of the activities a typical "big business" performs are not part of the Tritech business model. Our advertising costs are low. We don't maintain huge stocks of parts, we don't have a fleet of company vehicles, and the CEO of Tritech maintains our website himself, without paying ridiculously overpriced web designers or webmasters. We have the skills you would easily pay as much as $120 per hour to employ, and a network of trusted business affiliates to help with the huge jobs and certain specialized computer-related services (i.e. QuickBooks maintenance) that we don't directly offer. With Tritech, you won't ever pay ridiculous service prices just so our techs drive around in Volkswagen Beetles and PT Cruisers with custom painted logos on the side, because fancy cars and uniforms don't fix your computer! We would be embarrassed if we had to use gimmicks like these to get your business, and we know that you don't want to pay for them, because we certainly wouldn't if we were a client! Our prices reflect a reasonable balance between the overhead we incur and the profits we need to continue to grow and serve more areas. Respect for our clients is very important, and by charging a fair and reasonable price for high quality services, we feel that we are meeting part of that obligation.
